It’s that one day of the year we get to completely spoil our mums and show them just how much we appreciate them. It’s Mother’s Day! So, to help you keep your favourite child status, we have put together a list of things not to get your mum this year.
1. Bath soap.
In between working, cooking, raising you and generally dominating at life, not all super-mums have time to enjoy relaxing bath’s each week. Ditch the over-priced, over scented bath soaps because let’s be real, they will just be added to the pile of unusable gifts from previous years.
2. Dinner that you leave her to pay for.
There’s nothing worse than taking your mum out for a lavish lunch and bottomless champagne only to leave her with the bill after. Don’t disappoint her this Mother’s Day.
3. $10 bunch of supermarket flowers.
Flowers are a lovely idea for Mother’s Day, but not the marked up, week old bunches from your local supermarket. Take the time to visit one of many flower markets in Perth and pick something special for your mum. Or even better, pick your own wildflowers and wrap them in craft paper and twine, she will love you for that little bit of extra effort.
4. Leftover Easter chocolate.
If you are thinking chocolate would be perfect, you are probably right, but do not re-gift leftover Easter chocolates! Mums have super powers and they know your tricks. That unopened Lindt bunny or bite size chocolate blocks will not cut it and you will probably drop a level to “second favourite child.”
5. Home appliances.
The last thing your mum wants is to find new ways to cook or clean for you. So, put down that sandwich toaster, she doesn’t want it and certainly doesn’t want to make you toasted sandwiches with it.
What mums really want for Mother’s Day is some quality time with you, being treated to her favourite food and drinks, it’s that simple. Whether it’s a glass of sparkling with lunch or her favourite cocktail with dinner, The Northlands Tavern has her favourites so that you can stay the favourite. For that extra something, The Northlands Tavern has even organised kid’s entertainment from 12.30-2.30 so mum can enjoy a moment to herself.
Book your Mother’s Day lunch at The Northlands Tavern now and show her just how special she is to you.
